Spooky season is just around the corner, and what better way to showcase those hauntingly fun pictures than with these mixable mini albums? They’re perfect for capturing all your ghoulish memories! 🎃👻
For the front cover, I began with an acrylic piece and used a brick stencil with some modeling paste to create a "wall" on the right side. Once it dried, I applied black alcohol ink over the top and sides of the acrylic, adding it in spots on the wall to give an eerie vibe and create a “hole” in the center for a picture of a witch walking through the forest. To add some texture, I sprinkled faux moss on the wall and across the bottom, then finished it off with black beads, flowers, and the word "Spellbound." It’s the perfect spooky touch!
On the back side of the front cover, I cut out a piece of printed paper and placed the witch in the center, gluing it to the back of the acrylic so she appears to be peeking through the front. Next, I added a photo mat, a half spider embellishment, and some flowers to enhance the spooky theme. It adds a fun layered effect! On the opposite page, I used the first chipboard piece of the mixable album. I covered it with a piece of printed paper and added a pumpkin-printed paper as a photo mat. To embellish, I included some lace paper, sparkles, flowers, bat ribbon, and a charm with a key and beads. It all comes together to create a wonderfully spooky look!
For the next two-page layout, I covered the backside of the first chipboard piece and grabbed another chipboard piece for the following page. I covered both with printed paper. On the left side, I created a pocket using lace paper and tucked in some tags. I also added ribbon to the left side for a little extra flair. On the right layout, I added a "gate" and embellished it with a butterfly in the center, some flowers, and more faux moss to tie everything together!
For the last page, I used another acrylic piece. First, I added modeling paste around the edges, and once it dried, I colored it with alcohol ink and scraped it off to create a weathered, eerie look. In the center, I placed an image of a witch on a piece of printed paper and glued it to the backside. To finish it off, I added sparkles, a flower, and the quote "Into the Woods." It really ties the whole spooky theme together!
To pull it all together, I added book rings along with some ribbon and DIY seam binding. Thank you for checking it out! I hope you feel inspired to create your own spooky album! Happy crafting! ~ Jennifer
