Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here! I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps blog. If you love to decorate your home for Christmas, I have a Home Decor project that's easy to make. To create my project I'm using Clear Scraps Shiplap Stocking Shape https://www.clearscraps.com/Wood_shapes_p/cswslsmstocking.htm
The Chipboard Embellishments I'll be using is Clear Scraps Holly chipboard embellishment https://www.clearscraps.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSCEholly and Clear Scraps Wood Holiday Collection Shapes- 3 pack https://www.clearscraps.com/product_p/cswsholiday.htm
To decorate my Shiplap Stocking shape, I'm using scrap papers from my stash. You could also paint, ink or stencil onto your wood surface.
To begin our project, I chose 2 coordinating patterned papers and cut to fit each wood section on my Shiplap Stocking. I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife. I recommend using a strong adhesive like Beacon glue to adhere your papers to your wood surface.

On the top portion of my Stocking, I applied some craft glue and sprinkled some Glitz confetti over the top. Shake off any excess confetti and set aside your Stocking to dry.
While your Stocking is drying, we can work on our embellishments.
I took the Chipboard Holly/berries pieces and them apart. I'm only using one set of Holly leaf and 2 berries. You can save the other piece for a future project.
I covered my Holly chipboard piece with Clear Versamark ink and sprinkled some Green Tinsel Embossing powder over the top. Shake off any excess embossing powder and heat emboss with your heat tool. On both berries I applied Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled Red tinsel Embossing powder over the top. Heat emboss as we did with our Holly leaf. See photo:
Next take out the Tree shape from the Wood Holiday Collection pack. I'll only be using the Christmas tree for this project. You can save the other pieces for a future project. You could also use a different Holiday shape if you prefer.
I applied Brown acrylic paint to the base of my Christmas tree shape. On my tree, I applied some Green acrylic paint. Let dry. See photo:
After your paints have dried, I took some silver tinsel stems and glued them diagonally onto my wood tree shape. And I glued my Chipboard Holly and berries pieces at the top of my Stocking. Then I applied a puffy sticker bow at the top of my tree and some Dazzle sticker circles scattered on my tree to resemble ornaments. Here's some photos:
Now we are finished with our project and it's ready to display and enjoy for the Christmas season and beyond.
I hope my project inspired you! Thanks for visiting our Clear Scraps blog! We love seeing your crafty makes. So don't forget to share them on our Facebook Clear Scraps Creative page!
