Spring Mason Jar

Hey there, friends! It's Jennifer here, back on the blog with a fun and creative home decor project. Today, I’ve transformed a large mason jar wood piece into a charming photo holder and unique decor accent. These versatile wooden shapes are not only ideal for sprucing up your space but also make for a thoughtful, handmade gift. Let’s dive in!

First, I grabbed my trusty brown Unicon Spit stain and got to work. I lightly misted the wood with water, then applied a generous layer of the stain. After letting it dry just a bit, I took a paper towel and gently wiped away some of the excess, revealing a beautifully rich finish.

Once the first layer dried, I gave it another spritz of water and added a vibrant layer of Magenta Unicorn Spit. I let it dry for a bit, then repeated the process—spraying with water and wiping it down—until I achieved that perfect, blended look. The pop of magenta really brought the piece to life!

I rummaged through my supplies and found some fun chipboard elements, which I added to the bottom of the mason jar for a little extra flair. Then, I grabbed some trusty glue and a clip, securing it to the upper-middle section of the jar. This gave the piece the perfect touch of charm and functionality!

To finish things off, I took some brown ribbon and tied it around the upper portion of the jar, creating a lovely bow. To prevent any fraying, I carefully used a lighter to seal the ends. Then, I grabbed a few silk flowers, arranged them into a sweet little bouquet, and secured it to the back of the mason jar. The perfect finishing touches to complete this rustic beauty!
