Clear Scraps Project Post

Howdy Friends! Misty @Mommyofkidz here with you today sharing one of my favorite projects (SO FAR!) 
When I recieved my box of Clear Scraps products for my Guest DT spot, I was in love with every last piece! 
The Memory Dex Truck was definitely TOP OF MY list to work on, so it was first.  I had so much fun doing it! 
HERE IS THE POST where you can see what I did with it. 

For my 5th and final GDT project, I am sharing the Mixed Layers Heart Album using both acrylic and chipboard pages.  
It was soooooo flipping FUN!

As always I began by gathering the elements that I would be using for the project.  
Since Making the mini album is essentially scrapbooking, I didn't need to gather any tools or paints, 
just the collection that I would be using! 

To begin, I covered both sides of the chipboard pages with the patterned paper that I liked. 
The good thing about using 12×12 paper with a 6×8 album, is that you get to choose what part of the page to use! 
Like the one below for example, I took a chunk right out of the center of that paper because I wanted the window to land in a specific spot.

When the album is closed, I knew that I wanted to see that window through the acrylic cover.

As you can see by the photo below, I was able to achieve that goal. 

after I had covered all of the chipboard, I went ahead and made my binder ring tassels. 
I wanted lots and lots of fun ribbons to help make this album beautiful!
so I gathered all of the ribbons that I could find that matched with my paper. 

I cut the ribbons to add to my 4 binder rings and bound them tightly with jute cord. 

Now that all of the parts and pieces are ready, it is time to add the photos! 
I used 2×3 wallet sized photos for this and created pockets and flip pages to add extra.
I had several fun additions that allowed me to add multiple photos to my small album.

A multi-fold flip book nmade from cardstock.

A carffully placed large photo with a hidden pull tab tucked behind it….

and an accordian style fun fold page tied with ribbon.

An after all photos were added, and all embellishments glued in place, 
Finally had my beautiful "Summer Escape" album to share with y'all today! 

This is my very last post as a Guest Designer for Clear Scraps, and I thought that I would be sad.  
I am not though…not sad at all.  Five months have gone by so quickly!
and I am so very excited to be part of the official Design Team starting next month! WOOO HOOO!  
I will see you all next month with another super fun project!
