Hello everyone – for my second project this month I have a cute home décor bee hive chipboard piece.

For today’s project you will need Shiplap medium beehive, black – red – white, and yellow paint, BEE Happy chipboard embellishment sheet, brown magic marker, black with white polka dots wide ribbon and yellow gingham 1” wide ribbon, gold foil paper, Hexagon dies, embossing tool (or something that has a round tip), glitter glue, strong glue, and paintbrushes.

Take the shiplap bee hive and paint it yellow.  Set aside to dry.  When dry paint the back of the shiplap piece.

When the bee hive is dry, use the brown magic marker to trace the lines for the sections of the bee hive and the entrance.

Now take the embellishment sheet and your black and red paint. Paint the bee black and the flower red.  Make sure to avoid the black section so you don’t get paint on your flower.  I masked mine off.  Set aside to dry.

When dry punch them out.  Use the yellow paint to paint the center of the flower.  Set aside to dry.

Use the black paint to paint the words Bee Happy.  Let dry.

Now take your white paint and your embossing tool to add white dots all over the words.  Set aside to dry.

Use the glitter glue and a paintbrush to add glitter to the wings of the butterfly and center of the flower.  Set aside to dry.

While the images are drying, use your gold foil and hexagon dies to cut out some hexagons.  Base the number of hexagons you cut out on the size of your dies.  I used the larger ones and cut out 3.  Set aside until ready to add to your hive.

When everything is dry set the images onto the bee hive to determine placement.  Do not glue down until after the bow has been made.

Holding the 2 ribbons together, make a multiloop bow that is about 4 ½” wide by wrapping the ribbon around your fingers that are spread apart.  Remove the loops from your fingers and use the ribbon to tie the loops together with a knot.  Spread the loops apart to make your bow fluffy.  Angle cut the ends of the ribbons.

Set your ribbon onto the bee hive and adjust your chipboard pieces if needed.  Glue your pieces down to your bee hive.

You home décor piece is ready to be displayed.  You can either set it on a holder or add a loop of ribbon on the back to hang it with.

I hope you have enjoyed this shiplap piece.  We have some cute shiplap pieces in the store so check it out and make some others for the different seasons.

Have a Great Day!
