Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello and Happy July!! 
Misty @Mommyofkidz here with you today sharing some shakers for the 4th of July! 
Y'all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE making the Shakers… and this time, not only did I do a regular Shaker, I did one of the super cool Shaker Tags! 

I chose the Butterfly Shaker Tag because…well…Butterflies!!  LOL.
I originally thought that I would decorate it with bright colors  and lots of blingy things…however…I opted to go a different direction. Not only because of  Independence Day being tomorrow, but because I truly LOVE this Great nation and I do Thank God for the Men and Women who have given their ALL for us to have the freedoms that we are blessed with. 

For the Butterfly Shaker Tag, I decided to keep it a bit minimalistic, and let the American Flag paper do all the work. When I see the Stars and Stripes, I am immediately filled with a sense of pride. I think this is a direct result of when I was in Elementary School, and we stood every morning and said the Pledge of Allegiance and then Sang "My Country Tis of Thee" or "America The Beautiful". 
There is just something about that combination of Red~White~and Blue with Stars and Stripes that gets me all nostalgic and tugs at my heart strings. Adding that to the butterfly tag just speaks volumes to me and the work FREEDOM comes to mind.

ANYWAY… I used some star shaped resin embellishments to put in the center of the stars to add a bit of texture and bling. Then…I filled that butterfly UP with a generous mixture of all the patriotic colored shaker fillers that I had on hand. 
I am SOOOOO in love!

I have not yet decided what I will do with this Butterfly Shaker Tag, but I know that I love it!
My Freedom Butterfly Shaker is definitely one of my FAVORITE projects this year! 
The Star Shaker, however, will have a special place to call home soon!

I will be sitting at my dining room table with all my girls on Friday the 4th  enjoying each other and exercising our Freedom to get Crafty. I will be teaching them a few techniques and we will make something Patriotic.  I WISH I had ordered more of these fun tags from the Clear Scraps Store because these would be PERFECT!! UGH! 
Anyway, I hope that I have inspired you in some way today!  Maybe I have inspired you to do some patriotic crafts??  Maybe even a few Shakers!!??  How will you be spending Independence Day?  I would love to see what you create if you do get crafty over the weekend!!
