Hello and happy summer, everyone! 🌞
Jennifer here, sharing a little splash of creativity with a sea life-themed printer’s tray! These trays are bursting with possibilities—you can turn the compartments into playful shaker windows, tuck in cherished photos, or simply highlight stunning imagery.
For this piece, I dove into the beauty of ocean life, letting sea creatures take center stage. I even added a fun shaker element in the bottom left corner for a bit of extra movement and magic. 🐚✨
Let your imagination set sail!
The first thing I reached for was my new favorite medium—blue-green metallic paint. I used it to coat the top portion of the tray, giving it a gorgeous, ocean-inspired shimmer. While that dried, I turned to the stunning Seas The Day paper collection from Graphic 45. 🌊🐠
I carefully cut out the images I wanted to feature, laid them out, and played with the arrangement until everything felt just right. Once I was happy with the layout, I glued them down securely. To finish it off, I added two chipboard frame pieces, layering them for dimension and adhering them over the paper to bring the whole design to life.
After layering the two chipboard frames, I moved on to the fun part—creating a little beach-in-a-box shaker! I added sea glass, sand, and tiny shells (all from Mudd Puddles) into the bottom left compartment. To balance the design, I glued more sand and seaglass to the upper left and bottom right corners, giving it that windswept, seaside charm.
Next, I peeled the protective film off both sides of the acrylic piece and carefully glued it over the chipboard to seal in the shaker elements. Once it dried, I attached the top frame—the one I painted earlier in that dreamy metallic blue-green.
To finish it all off, I grabbed my Mudd Puddles glue, along with more sand and sea glass, and added texture around the outer edge of the frame. It gave the whole piece a sun-kissed, beachy vibe that I absolutely love. 🌴✨
Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer.
