Hello everyone!
Fall is right around the corner and time to make your cards to send out. For my cards I used the Embellishments chipboard punchout for Fall. The chipboard pieces are perfect for your card making.
To begin, apply a coat of white Gesso to the pieces you will use. This will allow the paint to adhere and not soak into the wood.
Once the Gesso is dry, we can begin painting. I chose the cluster of pumpkins, the single pumpkin, and the word pumpkin. I used orange, brown, and green acrylic paint.
For the acorn I used a tan and brown.
For the leaf I used a yellow.
For the Hello Fall I used red.
Note – some of the embellishments needed 2 coats of paint.
Allow all coats of paint to dry.
To give the elements interest and texture I used some of them to add more color. For the leaf I used red and orange to brush on some of the color.
For the acorn I used a brown alcohol marker and a ruler to add some crosshatch lines. When finished I glued on the top of the acorn.
Card 1 – Pumpkin
For the card you will need a white card base ( 5 1/2” x 8 ½” scored and folded at 4 ¼”), a white panel ( 4” x 5 ¼”), a brown panel ( 2 ¾” x 4 ½”), brown polka dot pattern paper ( 2 5/8” x 4 3/8”), the large painted pumpkin, the word pumpkin, some orange gems, and an embossing folder.
Use the embossing folder to emboss the white panel. Add the polka dot paper to the brown panel then add it to the embossed panel centering on all sides.
Add the panel to the card base. Use a strong adhesive to glue the word pumpkin in the upper left hand corner of the polka dot panel. Glue the pumpkin in the lower right hand corner of the polka dot panel. Sprinkle on some orange gems and your card is complete.
Card 2 – banner card
For the second card you will need a white card base ( 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored and folded at 4 ¼”), a brown panel ( 4” x 5 ¼”), a white panel ( 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”), a copper metallic cardstock panel ( 1 ¾” x 3 7/8”), 3 strips of pattern paper in fall colors ( strip 1 – 1 ¼” x 3 ½”, strip 2 – ¾” x 3”, and strip 3 ½” x 2 ½”), a banner punch, the cluster of pumpkins embellishment, some brown sequins, and an embossing folder.
Take the copper metallic cardstock and the embossing folder and emboss the panel. Attach it to the top of the white panel.
Take the 3 strips of pattern paper and flag one end. Attach to the panel from above making sure the tops of the banners are even with the copper metallic cardstock. Attach the widest strip first about 3/8” away from the right hand side. Then the next widest on the left hand side of the strip already down. Finally add the narrowest strip on top of the other strips. See photo below for placement.
Add this panel to the brown panel. Glue the panel to the card base. Use a strong adhesive to add the cluster of pumpkins in the lower left hand corner. Sprinkle on some brown gems.
Card 3 – Hello Fall card
For this card you will need a white card base ( 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored and folded at 4 ¼”), a copper metallic cardstock strip ( 1” x 5 ½”), a yellow square ( 2” x 2”), an orange square ( 2” x 2”), a red square ( 2” x 2”), the Hello Fall word, the acorn, the leaf, and some orange gems.
Fold the card base. Attach the copper metallic cardstock strip on the left hand side of the card base about 1/8” from the folded edge.
Add the yellow square in the upper right of the card front about 1/8” from the right side and 1/8” from the top of the card base. See photo below for placement.
Glue the orange square in the middle of the card front about ½” from the left edge of the card front and overlapping the lower left corner of the yellow square about ¼”. See photo below for placement.
Attach the red square to the lower right hand corner of the card front about 1/16” from the right hand side and bottom of the card front. See photo below for placement.
Using a strong glue attach each of the embellishment pieces as below
Hello Fall to yellow square
Acorn to orange square
Leaf to the red square
Sprinkle on your orange gems.
