Hello everyone – here is my second project for September. I created 2 fun Halloween wall decor ideas.

To make your wall decor hangers you will need blank wood card, Spooky Memory-Dex dividers, Halloween pattern paper, black glitter paper, black glitter ribbon, Gesso, white acrylic paint, Mod Podge, craft knife, hole punch, pencil, ruler, paint sponge, sand paper, and scissors. The Halloween punch out embellishments were not used.

To begin take your Gesso and paint sponge and paint the wood cards. Let dry completely.

Take your wood cards your white acrylic paint, and paint sponge and paint the other side of the wood cards. Let dry completely. Add a second coat of paint to ensure it covers the wood completely. Let dry completely.

When the paint is dry, use a pencil, the pattern paper, and the wood card to trace the circles onto the pattern paper. Use the hole punch and punch out the holes.
Take your Mod Podge, Halloween pattern paper, and paint sponge. Add Mod Podge to one of the wood cards. Place the pattern paper onto the wood card making sure to match up the holes. Set aside to dry. Repeat the steps with the other wood card and pattern paper. Let both dry completely.

We are now doing to remove the memory-dex holes on the 3 spooky dividers. Use a ruler, craft knife and pencil to draw lines at the bottom of the witch’s legs just above the memory-dex holes. Use your ruler and craft knife to cut off the memory-dex holes leaving just the legs and shoes.

Repeat the same procedure to cut off the memory-dex holes on the witch’s hat. Make sure to use the pencil to draw a curve for the bottom of the hat.

Use the same procedure to cut off the memory-dex holes on the cauldron. Be careful not to cut off the legs of the cauldron.

Now we need to cover all the images with paper. Use the shapes and the pencil to loosely trace around the shapes onto the pattern paper and glitter paper. Use Mod Podge to glue the paper to the shapes. Let dry completely. When totally dry use a craft knife to trim around the shapes. Use sand paper to smooth out curves and small areas to get a smooth edge.

Insert the witch’s legs into the cauldron. Use a strong glue to glue them in place. Add a heavy blog on top to ensure the legs stay attached to the back of the cauldron.

Use a piece of pattern paper and cut a curve to make the band for the witch’s hat. Use a strong glue to attach the paper to the hat. Let dry completely. When dry use your craft knife to trim the sides.

Use a strong glue and each image to attach to the wood card. Make sure you do not cover up the holes.

Take your ribbon and cut about 16″ of ribbon for each panel. Thread the ribbon through the 2 holes and tie a knot at the top. Repeat with the other panel.

Your wall decor is now ready to be hung on your wall for Halloween.

This was a fun project to design. They are easy to make with the wood cards. Look for other memory-dex images and make some for other holidays!
Have a Terrific Tuesday!
Robbie
