Clear Scraps Project Post

Do you remember earlier this month when I shared my Thankfulness album with you?
Well, if not, please take a look at it, I posted it on the 10th. Anyway…I shared a few of my pages, including this cute little Maple Leaf Shaker…

For this page, I used the Maple Leaf Mini Shaker, and I assembled and painted the whole thing before doing anything else. I knew that I was not going house the chipper backing, so I put that to the side to be used somewhere else in the album.
Anyway, I assembled and painted all the layers, inside and out. I usually don’t do this, but I knew one wide would be showing on the back side of the acrylic page. It is a known rule that you make all elements that will be on an acrylic page look good from all sides! No cheating and leaving the bottom unpainted! HA HA! ( I just revealed my secret! LOL )

Once the entire leaf was painted, dried, and secured onto my album page, I filled it with an assortment of fun fall themed shaker elements. Then it was time to add the top acrylic cover. Remember, these things are covered on BOTH SIDES with a protective film. Don’t make the mistake of gluing your top on, only to realize you forgot to remove the film!! I usually remove only the side that will be glued to the shaker first. I don’t like to expose the top until all the glue is dried and no chance of getting it everywhere.

You can see here that is exactly what I did for this. I removed the file once everything was dried and ready to add the card stock topper. ** TIP.
Since I wanted the inside of the shaker to be jus a little thicker, I did not do the typical order for assembly. My order was :
Acrylic page base
All layers of leaf cut out
Acrylic leaf topper
Leaf cardstock cutout.

I used one of the leaf cutouts to trace an outline onto a piece of cardstock that I wanted to be on one side of my leaf. The other side will be just the orange that you see.

I enjoy the acrylic look so much, and the see-thru elements are my favorites! Clear Scraps makes it so easy to make Transparency a real thing! I am soooo in love with how this turned out!
