Can you believe it’s already November? The holidays are right around the corner, and I couldn’t wait to dive into some Christmas crafting! This month, I created a cheerful holiday layout that’s perfect for using up those leftover paper scraps from various collections.

I started with a plain white 12×12 base, then added an 11×11 patterned layer that I distressed around the edges — folding and tearing in a few spots for extra texture and interest. Next, I cut four 4×4 squares, layered the edges, and topped each with a 3.75×3.75 square, also distressed. I alternated patterned paper over solid and vice versa for contrast and balance.
To bring in some festive charm, I strung several ornament ephemera pieces along baker’s twine and adhered them to the upper left square. Some were glued flat, while others popped up with dimensional adhesive for depth. I let a bit of the twine dangle down on each side like ribbons — it adds such a fun, whimsical touch!
I added 3×3 photos to the top right and lower left squares, tucking in a few small banner tags under the edges and finishing it off with a date tag.
Now for my favorite part — the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Christmas Tree! I added patterned paper to the base and colored the top layer with a green Copic marker before assembling. Since the patterned base was already quite busy, I decided to leave the shaker empty, topping it off instead with a pretty red bow embellishment.

To complete the layout, I reached for the Clear Scraps Christmas Script Word. I colored it with my Minc Toner Marker, ran it through my Minc machine, and added gold foil. If you look closely, you’ll notice a few spots where the foil didn’t fully adhere — and I love it that way! The slightly distressed look ties in perfectly with the torn paper edges and black accents from the ornaments, tree, and twine.

This layout turned out to be the perfect blend of festive and rustic, with just the right amount of shimmer!
