Hey there all my crafty Friends! Misty @Mommyofkidz here today sharing a new project that I created for Clear Scraps. But first….Can you believe that it is already halfway through NOVEMBER!!?? Holy Moly! That means that today it is officially only 41 days until Christmas!! Ok…I have a question for you…and BE HONEST!
Who has all of their shopping done and gifts wrapped?
I am going to be honest…I have not even bought a single gift. NOT. EVEN. ONE.
I have been so stinkin’ busy with work and helping my daughter move into her own house, that I completely forgot that Christmas is around the corner!
However, I have been very crafty, and I have created some super cute items that can be gifts if given to the right person! Take this Small House Journal Cover for instance. I turned it into a Gingerbread House Junk Journal, and I could give this to one of the you girls that I have on my list!
I mean…it turned out really cute, don you think?

I started with the Small house cover set and honestly had no idea where it was going to go. I had several ideas on what to create, just not enough enthusiasm to really want to pursue any of them. Since it is a house, I pulled out the 4×6 Fancy Chipboard Door to see if I could gain inspiration. Ideas did start to formulate and I knew what I was going to create.

Once I decided on the Gingerbread house, I pulled out some scrapbook paper from different Christmas lines and found all the perfect elements!
I covered the entire cover with a brown cardstock with markings that resembled icing on a cookie, and I added several candy and other elements that would likely be found on a Gingerbread House.

That door was going to be my favorite part! I knew that I wanted it to swing open, so I designed it so that it opened easily to reveal a hidden journal area, or a place to add a title.

Once the cover was complete, I decided to add some pages. It is actually super easy, and probably one of my favorite parts of the junk journal making process. For this album, I made the pages 4X 4.5 folded, which means if you can find any traveler’s journal pages that are the right size, you would have no wasted paper!

I made two complete signatures and affixed them inside my journal cover. I did not decorate or embellish any of them, because I feel like that would be up to the recipient as to how she would like to decorate her book. Once the signatures were in, the journal was finished, and I was in love! Head over to the Clear Scraps Store to see what you can create! You still have time to create something beautiful for that special person on your list!
