Happy New Year, Clear Scraps friends! I’m kicking off 2026 with a project that is extra special to me—a love-themed mini album created with the beautiful Clear Scraps Chipboard Layered Heart Album. Now that my husband and I are officially empty nesters, we’re celebrating this new season of life with our first-ever photo shoot of just the two of us in our 21 years together. This album is the perfect place to document those photos once we receive them, and I selected papers and colors that coordinate with the outfits we’ll be wearing for the shoot.

I layered chipboard embellishments and floral pieces from the collection to create tons of dimension right from the start. The layered heart shaped pages are the perfect base for a richly textured, romantic design.

On the inside cover, you can see an embellishment from the front peeking through the heart cutout. To keep everything cohesive and polished, I covered the back of that exposed embellishment with coordinating paper.
Next, I took the center heart from the Love Chipboard Punchout Embellishments and covered it with the same patterned paper. I added a large journaling block to the page, placed the chipboard heart on top, and tucked a sentiment under the edge so it overlapped the journal area. A few additional ephemera pieces finished this page beautifully.
For the other page, I created a layered photo mat using large ephemera pieces and coordinating papers. Along the bottom, I added a chipboard embellishment to serve as the page title. Some floral ephemera pieces tucked along the right edge add softness, and a small butterfly in the top left corner ties everything together.

For this page, I kept the focus on a large central photo mat. I tucked a tag and a few ephemera pieces beneath the upper left corner, then topped them with a chipboard sticker for added dimension. To finish it off, I added a crisp white bow to the tag and placed a brad at the center of the floral embellishment for extra texture.
For the next page, I adhered a large chipboard frame to the center. I was careful to add adhesive only to the left and bottom edges so I can easily lift the right side to slide in the photo later. I colored the Love Chipboard Word Title with acrylic paint markers and added a couple of enamel dot and brad clusters to bring the page to life.

For page five, I used another large chipboard frame and layered several ephemera pieces along with a chipboard word strip to create the title. Stacking the chipboard title on top of the frame adds so much dimensional detail—it really draws the eye to the center.
For the final page, I created a large photo mat by layering oversized ephemera pieces, making sure the top and bottom elements peek out no matter what photo size I choose. The title for this page is the XOXO Chipboard Embellishment, painted with acrylic markers to coordinate perfectly. A few brads and enamel dots give the finishing touches to this romantic, layered page.
I absolutely LOVE how this mini album turned out, and I truly cannot wait to add the photos from our shoot. This project feels so meaningful, and I’m excited to document this new chapter for us.
