Valentines Floral “LOVE” Banner

Hello and Happy Valentine’s Day!! Misty @Mommyofkidz here with you and I am so excited to share my wooden valentines banner with you! I am so in LOVE with how this turned out!

I used the Interchangeable Wood Banner piece for this-actually, I used four of them! One was not going to be enough for what I was wanting to do, but four were PERFECT! Not only will I spell “LOVE”, but I can put my daughter’s name, “SKYE”, on the flip-side! How perfect is that!??

Well, I did as I always do, and I gathered my supplies that I would need to get started. Since this is a wooden banner, I knew that it would be completed in stages. I only gathered what I knew I would need to start. The first step is Painting. I had to paint these 4 raw pieces of wood! I gathered the colors that I thought I would use for this and began to paint.

Here is a link to the paint that is in the Clear Scraps Shop. It is my favorite brand without a doubt. For this banner, I wanted the colors to be soft and feminine…and floral! I used a pastel pink chalk paint for the banners along with a soft white and green for the accent pieces.

YES, I do use my glass mat for painting on, and yes, I do occasionally blend paint colors on it. I mean, it all comes up so easily! WHY NOT??
Once the paint had dried, I assembled the banners and was super happy with how it was turning out!

But then, my daughter came over to my house and saw it…and I had to change it! While the colors were her favorites and were actually PERFECT, she wanted them the be even SOFTER! Back to the drawing board I went…to repaint the entire banner! This time…softer pink and white, and I omitted the green all together. I used a soft Silvery gray color instead. Yes, that is the color combination she was wanting! So, thinking I was done painting, I began adding ribbon to the banner.

Before I finished adding the ribbon, Skye came over to visit again. She sees the banner and tells me that she didn’t really like the ribbon. WHAT!!?? This girl is truly my toughest critic, y’all!! So of course I removed all the ribbons. ALL SHE WANTED were flowers. Nothing else. No extra flare, no fru-fru. and definitely no bling!
Okie Dokie! I can do that. And so I did.

And OH MY GOODNESS…I loved it. It was soft and feminine and floral and all the things that she wanted…and is was beautiful.
So, the reason I told you this story was to tell you not to be afraid to try new things. Try different colors, do a project that you’ve never even thought to do before!
Yes, I could have done without my daughter changing her mind mid-stream. But with all her changes, I created the perfect banner for her.

Finally! Something that she loved and wanted to hang in her Babe Cave at her own house! And to be honest…I think I loved it even more with the softer colors as well! DON’T TELL HER I SAID THAT!
I just may have to grab some more of these Interchangeable Wooden Banners! They are actually perfect for personalizing any space!! Or, if you just want a single monogram, you can get the Interchangeable Wood Pennant. Both are fantastic! WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

Thank you all so much for stopping by today! I hope that I have inspired you to get creative!
