For this project, I created a Memory Dex box to document our recent cruise to the Bahamas — and I absolutely love how it turned out! This is such a fun and interactive way to capture a trip, and it doubles as a keepsake I can flip through anytime.

To start, I used the Clear Scraps Regular DIY Wood Memory Dex Box (4.75 x 6.0) and the Rounded Tab Acrylic Memory Dex Cards. I assembled the box first, then covered it with my chosen patterned papers and decorated the front using frames and chipboard embellishments to coordinate with my travel theme.
Once the box was complete, I moved on to the cards — which is where the real storytelling begins! I decided to create a divider card for each day of the cruise so I could document everything in order. Between each divider, I added photos, journaling cards with little stories from the day, and bits of ephemera from the trip.

To label each day, I used the Clear Scraps Chipboard Numbers Punchout Embellishments.
Pro tip: When working with chipboard punchouts, try coloring them before popping them out of the sheet. It helps keep your workspace cleaner and makes the process so much easier!

As always, I started with a layer of white acrylic paint marker before adding my final color. This little step makes such a difference — it helps the colors appear brighter and more vibrant on the chipboard.
One of my favorite details is on the Day 3 divider card. I had saved a card from the cruise that featured the iconic Carnival funnel, so I fussy cut it out and added it to my design. We took so many selfies on the upper deck with that funnel in the background, so it felt like the perfect way to tie those memories into the album.
For one of the cards (Day 4), I wanted to add a little extra sparkle, so I heat embossed the number with a glitter embossing powder after adding a base color to match. I love how it adds just a bit of shine and dimension!
These Memory Dex boxes are such a fun way to document trips — you can include so many little details that might otherwise get tucked away and forgotten.
