Simplicity and focus

With life whirling around us sometimes it's easy to get so busy that we can't focus on any one thing clearly.  There's a lot of talk these days about picking your word for the year – something to focus on and strive to achieve or remember.  In my opinion….that is EXACTLY what these Clear Scraps banners should be for.  My word, for the second year in a row is Joy but I'm also completely surrounded by God's grace in my life and so this banner I made, very simply, to remind myself daily to be thankful for grace, and to give it whenever possible.

For this banner, I used the gorgeous Basic Grey Pyrus, a few large letters from an old SEI pack and my circle punches from Marvy.  I cut rectangles 1/2" shorter (width and height) than my banner piece.  Then I hold it low on the banner piece to use the acrylic as a template for cutting the bottom to match the bottom of the acrylic.  I used my sewing machine to stitch the paper banners onto the acrylic, attached the circles and letters with Glue Arts adhesive and foam tape and finished the whole thing off with a chunky piece of rope to keep with the rustic/fallish colours.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Cathy
