Christmas 2012 (Clear Scraps & Authentique)

Hello once again fellow scrappers!  Kay here with a page consisting of both Clear Scraps & Authentique goodies!  This week we're teaming up with Authentique & what a great combo this makes!  I was provided with the "Peaceful" collection by Authentique & what perfect timing with Christmas just around the corner.  This gave me the opportunity to scrap our yearly Chirstmas photo–something I don't usually get to do until about July!

For this page I used a couple of snowflake pages from Clear Scraps Snowflake Mini Album.  When it comes to these mini albums you don't necessarily have to use them as an album–the pages can also be used as embellishments as shown here.

Christmas 2012
From the "Peaceful" collection I used the following papers: Chill & Solitude.

To give the snowflakes it's texture I did the following steps:

Step 1: Outline your snowflakes with a white Sharpie Paint pen.  These pens are permanent & meant for non-pourous surfaces such as acrylic.  This will help the snowflakes stand out more.

Step 2: Cover your snowflake with adhesive.  You can use any adhesive as long as it dries clear.  Then apply Diamond Dust to the adhesive.

Step 3:  This step is optional.  You can actually leave your snowflake as is!  It depends on your project.  I needed my snowflake to stand out just a bit more.  So I added this additional step.  With a small paint brush, I lightly painted white acrylic paint onto my Diamond Dust.  I also dabbed a bit of Silver metallic paint.  With these two paints my snowflakes stood out a bit more.

How you place the snowflakes onto your project is up to you as well.  You can place them with the Diamond Dust side facing up or with the Diamond Dust facing down.  I decided to place my snowflakes with the Diamond Dust side facing down.  Since the snowflakes are acrylic, you can still see the Diamond Dust & paint–I felt that placing the snowflakes this way fit my page better.

Here's a closeup of the other snowflake.  I have it peeking out from behind my cluster of embellishments.
