Mini Shaker Star Card

Hi everyone. Heather here, and it's graduation season. I work with a lot of teenagers, and we all know what teenagers want for graduation. Cash! I couldn't just give plain old boring cash, I had to jazz it up a bit. I created a mini shaker star card with a little slot to slide money into on the back. The recipient was super thrilled, and I was satisfied that it was pretty.

First, I used Heidi Swapp's sparkly mist to paint all of the chipboard pieces of the shaker.

Next, I traced the background of the star onto pattern paper. I adhered the pattern paper to the chipboard and sanded the edges for a clean finish.

Then I filled the shaker portion of the card with large patterned paper circles that I punched and some of the princess sequins

I attached the acrylic layer of the shaker and added a small sticker sentiment.

After that, I cut a small piece of patterned paper and scored it 1/4 of an inch in on each side. I folded it and adhered it with strong adhesive.

I tucked some cash into the little pocket and the card was ready to give as a gift.

Here's the final project! It would make a super cute decoration to hang in her dorm room too.
