Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello all my Clear Scraps Friends!! Misty @Mommyofkidz here with you today! Can you believe that it is almost JUNE?? This year has flown by y’all! With it halfway gone already, I want to ask you a question. Have you taken a vacation yet? If the answer is no…WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GO!! somewhere fun!! If the answer is yes, where did you go? I would genuinely love to know! I need more vacation ideas! Until then…take a trip to the beach with me and my project today!

Of course, I started with my old trusty Shaker tag. As you know, I am fully addicted to making these and it is an addiction I do not think will be going away any time soon! The #10 Acrylic Angle tag is my absolute favorite! It is large enough to fit most of the shakers in the Clear Scraps library, AND more embellishments if I decide to add them! For this one, I wanted to stay within my beachy theme from earlier in the month, so I chose use the Flip-Flop Mini Shaker…and it was so much fun!

I gathered my materials and set to work. This time I chose not to paint, I wanted to cover the flip-flops with a patterned paper. The striped one you see in the photo above was the winner. I wanted a very beachy vibe…and I think I got it! I also gathered lace and ribbon, shaker filler and of course, glue.
After I finished the Flip Flops, I just didn’t think it was “enough” to fill the tag that I had chosen to mount them on. I found a floral cutfile that I was able to give a beachy vibe to, and that was the perfect addition!

Once I had figured out the embellishments, I decided to do my doodling around the edges, I pulled out my paint marker and set to work. There is no rhyme or reason to the design that I used, just random lines and dots until I was satisfied that it somewhat resembled water bobbles. Once the border was done, I placed the shaker and cutfile how I wanted them and glued them into place. It was at that point that I added in a few ocean creatures and the quote at the bottom. Salty Kisses and Mermaid Wishes…

You know that feeling of satisfaction that you get when something just turns out RIGHT??? Well, this girl got that feeling! I fell SOOooOOOOooooOOooo in LOVE with this shaker tag, y’all! I mean just LOOK at tit! I can feel the ocean calling to my soul with this tag!! ** I did adjust the colors a little so that you could see the acrylic tag, but I did not adjust a lot…this is pure beachy goodness!!
