the woodland fairy…ATC

 Hey bloggers Rita Barakat here!
I love small things and today I have an acrylic ATC to share with you.
If you are not familiar an ATC it  is an Artist Trading Card-
 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, (usually mixed media) art on a little card.
What I love about this size is you can try something different, experiment new techniques,
it doesn't take a days to finish and it's cute.
Most people create them to trade in the mail – I have not done that,
I like my little creations and am thinking about doing something different with them.
(I am just not sure what that is yet! LOL!)
This card actually has lots of steps
step 1.The fairy is stamped directly on the acrylic ATC.
( I used StazOn ink.)
step 2. Once dry, on the back of the acrylic
card I added a layer of  Glue
to some of the sections of the wings and dress
and allowed it to dry completely.
When it was dry (it will be clear not white) I added  my first color of glitter,
I rubbed it in using a light pressure,
removed any excess glitter, then with another color of  glitter
repeated step 2
with the other sections.
Step 3. I cute a white piece of cardstock
for the backing and colored it with a yellow Gelato.
Draw on the surface and spread the color with a wet paint brush.
step 4. I added another layer of glue on top of the
glittered areas and allowed it to dry completely. *
When it was dry was able to attach it to the acrylic.
I used Gel medium in the corners to keep them from separating –
I added glitter on top before it dried.
step 5. I cut out a sentiment and glued it on top of the card.
*Because I am working with acrylic I can't use a heat gun
and I have to wait for things to dry naturally,
so I am usually on working several cards at once.
