Well, I think it is definitely cold enough outside to snow, but so far we haven't gotten any of the white stuff. Have you? We don't get a lot of snow in Missouri, so I decorate with a lot of snowflakes. That way my decorations can stay up a while after Christmas.
For this "Let it Snow" wall hanging, I used a Snowflake from
Clear Scraps Snowflake Album, as well as one from the
Clear Scraps Snowflake mini-album.
The papers I used are from
SEI's Desert Springs Collection. The pattern on the citrus colored paper reminded me of a pair of mittens I had when I was a kid and inspired the mittens that I added to the design.
I die-cut some snowflakes from the coordinating papers and then added a little faux snow for a little more chill.
The snowflake that hangs at the bottom was embossed by running the acrylic snowflake through my Sizzix Big Shot in an embossing folder. Then I sprayed it with Helmar Vellum Spray adhesive and dusted with glitter. The Vellum adhesive gives the acrylic a frosted look. Embossing gives it a great crystal snowflake texture.
