Let’s Go To The Beach Printer Tray

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a beach-themed 12″ x 12″ printer’s tray project. These trays are incredibly versatile! You can add as many photos as you’d like, create countless themes, and even turn some of the sections into fun shaker elements.

For this project, I started by painting the top tray piece with white chalk paint. Once it was dry, I distressed the edges using dark brown ink to give it a weathered, coastal look.

Next, I adhered a 12″ x 12″ patterned paper to the base of the printer’s tray and trimmed away any excess around the edges. I then selected several photos and coordinating papers to create photo mats for my pictures.

After trimming the base paper, I added two layers of chipboard on top of the paper. I created two shaker compartments where the three middle sections are located, filling them with sand, sea glass, and seashells. Once the shaker elements were in place, I carefully attached the acrylic piece to the top of the layered chipboard sections to seal them.

Finally, I added the top layer of the tray that I had painted earlier. To complete the beach theme, I embellished the tray with ephemera from a beach-themed paper collection, fishing net, and moss that resembles coral. I love using this moss because it adds wonderful texture and really mimics the look of coral in an ocean scene.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my project. Have a wonderful summer and happy crafting!
