Hello crafty friends! Jennifer here with a Coastal Memories Mini Slimline Album. These slimline albums may be small, but they have so many creative possibilities! If you’re anything like me, you take lots of photos and want to showcase as many as possible, so I always try to include plenty of interactive elements and spaces for photos and journaling.
The first thing I did was cover each chipboard piece with patterned paper. After the adhesive dried, I trimmed away the excess with an X-Acto knife and inked all the edges with brown ink for a finished look.
Next, I painted the lighthouse, anchor, and ship wheel chipboard pieces. I added sand and sea glass to the frame and sand dollar embellishments for extra texture and a beachy feel. For the octopus, I used blue glitter sand to give it a fun pop of sparkle.
While those pieces were drying, I began designing each page.
On the back of the first chipboard page, I added a photo mat along with a small interactive fold-out, creating extra space for photos or journaling.
On the second chipboard page, I created a side pocket filled with photo mats and tags. At the bottom, I added an interactive fold-out box for even more photos or journaling. On the back of this page, I attached the sand-and-sea-glass frame along with the painted anchor and finished it with ephemera from the collection.
For the third chipboard page, I created a waterfall feature on the right side with pockets that hold tags for journaling or additional photos. The front of each waterfall flap is decorated with small pockets for journaling tags, while the back of each flap is covered with patterned paper to display photos. At the bottom of the page, I added another pocket for even more photo and journaling opportunities. On the back, I included two large photo mats to showcase those special memories.
The fourth chipboard page features a photo mat at the top and a belly band at the bottom that holds tags and patterned paper. Attached to the belly band is a small interactive waterfall that’s perfect for documenting special moments or journaling. The back of this page includes additional photo mats along with the starfish embellishment accented with sand and sea glass.
On the final chipboard page, I added a large photo mat and embellished it with the painted lighthouse chipboard piece and coordinating ephemera. The back features multiple layered pockets that extend from the bottom to the top of the page, each holding photo mats and tags. I finished the page by adding more ephemera and the painted ship wheel.
