Hi there everyone! Laura here with you today to share a fun LO using the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Cupcake and more!
Have you explored the amazing world that is Clear Scraps Mini Shakers?!! They have covered just about any holiday, event, vacay etc with these fun embellishments! They are great as a tag, on a card, on a mini album, with any home decor project, and yes, a scrapbook LO!
So easy to work with, for this cutie cupcake, I painted the “frosting” with yellow acrylic paint, then while that dried, I traced the back piece of the cupcake out on 2 different patterned papers, fussy cut them out, then glued that all down. Then I assembled the layers of the top part–you’re given 2 additional pieces of the “frosting” to glue together so it creates the depth needed for the sequins that are held in by the acrylic layer you glue down before you add the final painted piece. You can just use one layer and not add sequins too, and use the other pieces as you’d like (clouds on another scrapbook page, for example!). Two additional tips here: remember the acrylic piece has a layer of protective plastic film (to protect from scratches) that you need to peel off of BOTH sides. The other is–most of these shakers are obvious the way they are cut, but the cupcake frosting only stacks ONE way. Verify which direction each piece goes before you layer!!
Another fun embellishment on this layout is the Clear Scraps Baking Chipboard Embellishments.
This adorable set has the whisk, spatula and rolling pin you see in the 2 pictures. They were painted with acrylic paint, and then brushed with distress ink to give them a bit more depth. These always add such a fun touch to all kinds of projects!
