Graduation Card

Graduation Card

So, my baby brother graduated this weekend. It is amazing how time has flown, it seems the last time I remember I was showing him the ropes of high school. He graduated from Lake Technical College with an autobody degree. I am so proud of him.

This card was super fun to make, and I loved being able to have the clear front, allowing you a peak of what it says inside! First off I cut this card to be 4 inches by 6inches. I know that it is not the normal size, but I like the ability of him being able to slide it into a photo album of some sort if at one day he should choose to do so.

I then adhered the clear front to the rest of that card by sewing it onto the back of the card. Which is alot easier than you would think. Before I did this though I edged the paper with the notebook paper punch from EK Success. This is literally one of my favorite punches. I find it has a HUGE amount of possibilities.

I then cut out a little owl from my Cricut Explore, colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers, then added a few little touches – glasses, and a bow tie.

While I was waiting for his feathers to dry (haha) I started making some embellishments for the front of the card. I colored one of the gears from the Gear Clear Mixers. I colored it with IG5 and IG6 Markers. I also created a little pendant using the Clearly Accents Pennant Embelishments, I added a little sticker I had in my stash that says "who's your graddy?". Which I find hilarious for some reason.

After it was all dry, I placed all of the items together, and attached them to the front of the card using 3D foam tape.

On the inside of the card I used a blue printed paper from Heidi Swapp, I thought it fit what he is doing perfectly. On top of the paper I used a cut file I have had forever and have no idea where it is from (sorry) that says "Celebrate Now".

So that is it. A simple card that I hope he will keep forever…
