Thankfulness Flipbook

Hello Crafty Friends!! Misty @mommyof5kidz here today sharing a fun little seasonal project that I like to do every year. Usually, I will make daily “Thankfulness”posts on my Facebook page, and before facebook, I used my personal blog. I began doing this WAAAAAAY back in 2008 and I have done it every year since in sone form or another.
This year, however, I decided that I want to make it a very real and tangible book so that I can share it with my family. For my Thankfulness project, I wanted a flip book of sorts, so, I decided on using the 4×6 Acrylic Recipe Stand kit in a very different way.

It is just a simple stand with a mixture of chipboard and acrylic pages. While the intention is a recipe stand, I thought it would make a fabulous Flip Book! Of course, I could have used any of the 4×6 or 5×7 albums, but this little gem comes complete with it’s own stand! I didn’t really do much to decorate the stand because I want it to match with any decor that I might have each year. Therefore, I decided to keep the focus on the pages themselves and make them interchangeable. My hopes are that I create new “Thankfulness” pages each year to display on the stand for all to see. Who knows, it may become a tradition that my kids carry on with their own babies!
Once I gathered my materials, I let the crafting begin!!

I simply began covering all of the chipboard pages, front and back, using a different pattern for each. I wanted this to be fun and whimsical with lots of color.

Here is a view of the bottom side with the tabs. I did put a tiny little icon onto each of the acrylic tabs just for extra eye candy. As you can see, I used lots and lots of chunky pieces that addad extra weight and thicknness to the pages.

Would you like to see a few of my pages? Glad you asked!! I did not add any photos to my flip book yet, as I want to use this for this coming Thanksgiving celebration.
However, you can see that I did add spaces for them. Photos are the most important part of any memory based project…in my opinion of course. Always add photos, even if you only took one.

The other important part…equally as important actually, is the journaling. WRITE it down! your thoughts, feelings, who attended, what you ate, etc. Someday, you will want to remember all those things…trust me. As you can see, I added little journaling spots for these important details. Above is a list of lwhat will be on our menu, below is a list of traditions. that lists are both folded to fit nicely into my flipbook, but will unfold to reveal my hand written journaling. Also, space beside each for a photo.

With a few fun lists and a few photo spots, of course I had to add my leaf shaker! I mean…what is Fall without leaves? Ha ha!
Well, I hape my flip book has inspired you to get crafty this fall! A thankfullness flipbook is always a great idea! Or, you could do an album, or even a simple card. Totally up to you! Just stay Crafty My Friends! And Happy Fall Y’all!!
