For this project, I used the Clear Scraps Rectangle/Square Printer Tray to document a special memory — the Simple Stories retreat I attended with my friend, Laura.

Printer trays make amazing home décor pieces because they’re so easy to customize. You can pack them with detail and dimension, or keep them clean and simple. Paint, inks, markers, or patterned paper all work beautifully, making each tray completely your own.
To get started, I first outlined the openings of the tray so I could correctly place my background papers. This little step makes a big difference and keeps everything lined up perfectly.

Next, I painted the top chipboard frame and set it aside to dry while I worked on adhering the background papers into each opening. Once the papers were in place, I selected and sized my photos, then started playing with embellishments to tell the story of our retreat.
These projects really come together quickly, and they’re perfect for highlighting trips, events, or meaningful moments. They also make great gifts — personalized, dimensional, and ready to display on a shelf or wall.
This tray now holds a snapshot of such a fun weekend, and I love how it turned out!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this project inspires you to document your own memories using a printer tray. Be sure to check out Clear Scraps for their variety of trays and embellishments, and don’t forget to share your projects — I love seeing what you create!
