Hey friends! It’s Jennifer here on the blog, and today I’m sharing this mini travel journal. I decided to focus on a beautiful color palette of blues, browns, and grays to give it a classic, vintage-inspired look.

The first thing I did was cover the front and back of each page with my base patterned paper. After gluing everything down, I used an X-Acto knife to carefully trim around the edges for a nice, clean finish. Then I grabbed some Vintage Photo ink and distressed all of the edges to add a little extra depth and character.

For the cover, I layered some of the collection’s note cards with some ribbon and a flower embellishment. I stacked everything together and finished it off with a small paper element from the collection to create a simple but eye-catching focal point.

On the inside of the first page, I created a waterfall feature. Waterfalls are a great way to maximize space because they provide room for multiple photos, journaling cards, and special mementos collected during your travels. On the opposite page, I added a pocket filled with tags and photo mats, giving you even more places to document your memories.

On the next two pages, I added a large photo mat along with several layered pockets. These pockets are perfect for holding additional journaling cards, photos, tickets, postcards, or any other keepsakes from your adventures.

For the final two pages, I created a pocket on the right side and a belly band on the left. I love using belly bands because they’re so versatile—you can tuck in journaling cards, photo mats, mementos, or just about anything you want to save.
To finish the journal, I tied everything together with coordinating ribbon, giving it a beautiful finished touch.
I hope this project inspires you to create your own travel journal using a limited color palette. It’s amazing how much you can fit into a mini album while still keeping it beautiful and functional.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting!
