Thanksgiving Shaker Card

Hello Crafty Friends – Annie here with a fun Thanksgiving shaker card featuring the Mini Shaker Tall Pumpkin. I filled this shaker with fall themed sequins to capture the feel of Thanksgiving. If you look closely you will see tiny Turkeys in the shaker.

Supplies:

Mini Shaker Tall Pumpkin

6″ Woodgrain Stencil

Hero Arts Stamp

Cardstock: Kraft, Orange, Light Orange, Green, Red & Metallic Gold

Distress Oxide Ink: Carved Pumpkin & Rustic Wilderness

Stellar Ink: Weeping Willow

Chroma Glaze: Orange

Let’s get started!

Step 1. I started by inking the front and back panels of the pumpkin. Set a side to dry. Once dry I added a thin layer of Chroma Glaze in Orange. I used my most expense tool for this my finger. Set to the side to dry.

Step 2. While the panels dried I adhered the two inner pieces. Set them a side to dry.

Step 3. While the pumpkin dries I stenciled the woodgrain onto the Kraft cardstock panel and adhered it to the Orange panel. I finally adhered them onto the cardbase. I also die cut 3 leaves and stamped my sentiment onto a strip of light orange cardstock. I inked the edges of the leaves, the sentiment strip and the woodgrain panel for a warm and cozy feel.

Step 4. Now, that all the pieces of the pumpkin are dry I assembled the shaker. I remove the plastic film from the acetate layer and adhere it to the front piece of the shaker.

I adhered the inner pieces to the back of the pumpkin shaker. I then adhered the shaker onto the card front. I tucked two of the leaves I cut from cardstock behind the pumpkin base.

.I added the sequin mix into the pumpkin and adhered the top to it. I put the glue close to the outer edge of the pumpkin to avoid any glue oozing into the shaker area.

I adhered the sentiment on the center of the pumpkin and a small Green leaf at the base of the pumpkin’s stem.

Step 5. As a finishing touch I did some splatter with Sheer Shimmer Crafty Spray in Gold on the entire card front. I even let the splatter stay on the acetate window of the shaker.
