Hello and Happy Monday Clear Scraps Friends! Misty @Mommyofkidz here with you today sharing my newest Clear Scraps project, but first, I have a question. What is your FAVORITE thing to create? Do you enjoy working with wood pieces? Making Mini Albums? Creating Journals? Well, my favorite thing to do is not as elaborate as any of the things that I listed, but it is so enjoyable. I have shared several shaker tags and today I am sharing another!

For this one, I chose to use the mini anchor shaker and a #10 Acrylic Scalloped Tag.

The first thing that I do when I create one of these tags, is glue a layer to the backing, then start cutting. I use a very sharp razor knife to cut away the pieces of the back piece, so that it creates another see through layer for my shaker. Some of the shakers are more intricate and I can’t do this step, but this one wasn’t too bad. The rounded parts were a little difficult, but I got it done!

Once I have the back piece trimmed down and turned into another layer, I assemble the shaker using Glossy Accents. It is my favorite quick drying glue! I also use it to see the edges on the inside and on the outside of the shape. I literally squirt a bit of glue on the edges and use my finger to spread it out and create a seal. This step helps keep the chipboard from separating when I paint it. The phot below shows the anchor all assembled and sealed, and ready for the next steps. ** NOTE>>> I use glossy accents for everything EXCEPT adding any acrylic elements. For that I use the super glue gel for acrylics.

Once all the edges are sealed, it is time to paint and decorate. I usually only paint the edges and add a patterned paper for the top and bottom of the shaker.
After that is finished, it is time to decorate the tag if I wan to before adding the shaker. I removed the film from only one side and used alcohol ink and acrylic paint pens to add a bit of color and border. Then it is time to add the shaker!

I wan’t happy with the amount of alcohol ink that I had added to begin with. I wanted more…to resemble “troubled waters”. SOOOOO I added more alcohol ink in different colors and put a little more force behind my air to push the alcohol around.

There we go. These waters look a b it rougher, wouldn’t you say? Maybe a bit more difficult to navigate on my own. And that was what I was looking for. Because…I wanted to add this….”He is my Anchor in Troubled Waters.” Without Jesus in my life, I do not know where I would have landed after my son died. I do not know how I would have helped my other four children navigate their own grief. And I certainly do not know how I would have ever found happiness again.

He anchored me when I was lost. He guided me when I could not see. He lifted me when I could not get out of bed every morning. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light. And He is the anchor that we all need in these rough waters.
